Saw this simply by chance during my last road trip...a recently built but unfinished and abandoned stone house.
A look inside.
And a look up...
...where all the ducks are in a row.
The roof was meant to be finished with thatch.
The garage.
The "picture window" on the beveled corner of the house.
Fairy Tale House is in Togo, Saskatchewan.
Photographed on July 28, 2021.
How I wish someone would finish that roof to protect the structure from the elements, at least somewhat. Makes me think of a Hobbit house!
ReplyDeleteThe people of Togo wish the same thing.
DeleteWhimsical and mysterious!
ReplyDeleteIt was all built by just one man too. He had a good eye for design.
DeleteThis is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks BW. A must see!
Deletewhy was it abandoned before completion? Did the person die?
ReplyDeleteI heard that the man who built the house had some trouble with the CRA. He consequently abandoned the project and moved to the Maritimes where he bought an island. Hopefully he'll have better luck there.
