A Fine Line

Two species of colourful coleus plants at The Windmill Garden Centre in Medicine Hat, Alberta.  I grew some of the "sun-loving" varieties on my balcony last year and they handled the beastly summer heat without breaking a sweat, so to speak.

    1. Thank you Debra! Visit your local garden centre for a sniff of spring!

  2. My mother always grew them and over-wintered them in the house, along with geraniums. I think they're pretty hardy.

    1. The shade-loving varieties would do well on your east-facing balcony, don't you think?

    2. I think they likely would but unfortuntely I don't have much say in what goes out there because Resident Chef thinks food is more important. I sometimes manage to sneak in a fuschia for the hummingbirds but that's all we have room for.

    3. Oh well...one plant is better than none.
