Hecla Island was one of my last stops on a recent road trip through Manitoba. Although I didn't have a chance to explore the northern end of the island I did have time to take a leisurely drive through Hecla-Grindstone Provincial Park and Hecla Village where I found this nicely maintained church and cemetery. Never made it to Hecla in the 40 years I lived in Manitoba. Too bad!

DeleteInteresting to take note that the women retained their maiden names after marriage...definitely ahead of the current trend.
