The Newlyweds
This historical landmark is south of Gull Lake, Saskatchewan along Highway 37.
Old bowstring bridges such as this one are relatively common sights in my native province.
As early as I can remember all of them had been decommissioned and replaced by modern, sleeker and, in my opinion, generally less attractive bridges.
The new highway and bridge can be seen in this photo.
In the distance some cattle in the pasture to the east.
And now the bridge has a new distinction..."The Newlyweds" were here in August of 2017. Best of luck to them.
Photographed on August 8, 2018.
It doesn't span a very big river, does it.
ReplyDeleteI believe that's Swift Current Creek.
DeleteI stopped for photos of this same bridge.
