This handsome CNR train station in Dauphin, Manitoba was built in 1912 and designated a Heritage Railway Station in 1990. I can't remember ever seeing a train station built of brick before so this was a treat.
I couldn't actually back up far enough to get the entire building into the camera frame except for this one angled view.,,but I'm sure you get the idea. It's a beauty!

It's a beauty! The one in my small Manitoba hometown was built of brick too and looked very similar to the Dauphin one, but smaller. It was probably built pre-WW1 too. It's torn down now.
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the hometown train station. This one in Dauphin is one of the biggest I've ever seen.
DeleteMust have been a busy hub for transportation at the time. Wonder if the building is used currently or if it's just designated as a heritage building and is empty.
ReplyDeleteThe building is in good hands, It's now home to the Dauphin Rail Museum.
