I assume you photographed the Ukrainian church before it was demolished. I would have liked to have seen the interior of that church. It was pretty much sitting in a swamp when I was there in July 2015.
I saw the exteriors of the churches in and around Meacham. Also a little luck...a young fellow was working in the cemetery at Dormition of Saint Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church and he was kind enough to go home to get the key for the church so I could see the interior. Photos of this church appear here: https://michaeltruman.blogspot.com/2020/12/retrospective-outside-and-in-part-1.html
I really do wish somebody would take some of these and make them into homes. I know I would love to live in one. I'd want to add a few windows of course but the structure itself would make a wonderful house. I keep thinking what an amazing art studio could happen on the top level - you could see for miles!

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it was long gone by the time I made it to Peterson.
DeleteThere are two Ukrainian churches in nearby Meacham, one in town and one about a mile west of town. I managed to get a peek inside the one in town.
