"Honeymoon"
The church at Honeymoon was built in 1926.
The monument beside the church has two small wooden doors that, when opened, reveal a beautiful painting of Saints Peter and Paul.
The cemetery is about six hundred feet north of the church. In 1999 the grounds were extensively cleaned-up and updated.
Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Cemetery are near Honeymoon, Saskatchewan.
Photographed on August 6, 2020.
Interesting to see that painting behind the wooden doors - doesn't seem to be much in the way of protection for the painting.
ReplyDeleteWhen closed, the doors seal off the painting from the elements quite well.
