This is what remains of the Congregational Church at Gros Ventre-Tothill, Alberta. It was kind of an unintentional anniversary...I had stopped here exactly two years ago to the day.
Little has changed but photos from that visit can be seen here:
Photographed on June 12, 2021.
This one enlisted an involuntary 'awwww' - sad.
ReplyDeleteAbandoned but not forgotten.
DeleteI helped Bob Brown and David Carter cut the grass/fix the fence for that cemetery back in the late 90s. I helped installed the cemetery marker there as well. When my parents used to live in the area, we tried to cut the grass out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your help and kindness.
DeleteA brand new barbed-wire fence was put up around the cemetery recently which should keep it protected from livestock for many years to come.
I'm a co-director at Saint Margaret's and help out with the gardening there. I often stop at the old Congregational Church and Cemetery for a few photos on my way to and from. Not long ago I cleaned up the Congregational Cemetery and it still looks good.
