"I"

An elegant little church in the Saskatchewan countryside.

This is Profitis Ilias Greek Orthodox Church.

It is a privately built and owned church decicated to Saint Ilias.  The blue door is "the finishing touch."

Ilias is yet another spelling for Elia, Elias or Elijah.

The ornately designed wrought iron gate at the entrance to the church.

Photographed near Endeavour, Saskatchewan on March 19, 2020.

  1. Very interesting. Hadn't heard of this kind of thing being done before.

    1. I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't stopped at a lone gas station out on the highway. The attendant there told me about it. If the locals know what you're interested in seeing they can usually point out a thing or two you may not know about.

  2. This is a beauty! Looks like it's built of snow.

    1. Thanks MA. It's a magical little place, isn't it! Far exceeded any expectations I might have had.
