Well, I just learned something! I never dreamt that sort of tech was available back then. Would imagine the family must have been well off in order to afford it though.
Even a simple marble or granite headstone would have been a major expense, let alone the additional cost of a ceramic photograph. Most likely those that added the personal touch of a ceramic photo remembering their beloved weren't really considering the cost...the visual memory was what was important.

ReplyDeleteThe technology to produce ceramic photographs has been around since the 1850's. One that is well-made should last for centuries.
