Little Log Church

This one is for you MA.  Enjoy!

A long abandoned log and mud church near Colinton, Saskatchewan.

From the general design and location of the building I believe this is an Anglican church.

A view of the apse/altar location on the eastern wall.

The small window above the altar has a Gothic arch.

Above is a side-by-side collage of the views from the other remaining windows in the church. Two of these windows (one facing north, the other south) are in the porch and the other two are along the north wall of the church.

In better days there were also two windows along the south wall...unfortunately the logs between the windows on this wall were removed at some point in time.  This has in turn weakened the roof which is now in very poor condition.

The view from the altar.  Take note of the chimney...there must have been a pot-bellied stove inside for services on cold days.

This little log church was, in my opinion, quite a find and when all is said and done...it's simply a sweetheart.

Photographed on February 18, 2021.

  1. ooooh - thank you for bringing me back to see this one Michael (I, of course, missed it the first time around). Any chance I can 'snitch' the first image and use it for inspiration? Full credit to you, of course!
