There seemed to be a lull in demolishing elevators although I could be wrong on this. This year the three elevators in Milk River, Alberta were torn down.
So sad to know this was torn down. I know it's not serving a purpose any longer but it means the history is gone. I wonder if anyone has converted any them into homes...I know I'd like to live in one. The top 'story' would make an amazing art studio!

ReplyDeleteIn that case, I'm glad I have some good photos of the Milk River elevators from a few winters ago.
DeleteLast time I was in the Leader area I kept looking in the direction of town but couldn't find it because the tallest landmark is now gone.

ReplyDeleteCan't save them all but there is a beautifully restored grain elevator in Acadia Valley, Alberta which is not too far away from Leader, Saskatchewan.
