A grain elevator on the outskirts of Duval, Saskatchewan.
The mustard yellow dust controllers and lettering stand out in high contrast with the rich red of the elevator and annexes.
A truck was unloading grain while I snapped a few shots. Good to see it's still in use.

This is a particularly nice one and so satisfying to know it's still in use. Thank you for the explanation of the dust controller because I didn't have a clue. I remember (all too well!) what thrashing was like on our farm and the horrendous amount of dust that billowed out of our barn when my Dad was unloading the grain. I suppose, when you think about it, it's no wonder he ended up with cancer in his throat. Breathing all that can't have been good.
ReplyDeleteA school friend's dad ran the Federal elevator in town. He died from cancer caused, at least in part, from grain dust. There really weren't any safety measures in place at the time.
DeleteLove the first shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks BW. Right place, right time.
