I wasn't expecting to see a bridge in the surrounding flat prairie...but there it was, large as life!
This one-arch bowstring bridge crosses the Moose Jaw River.
Whereas many bridges of its kind were retired long ago, this one is still in daily use.
Looking directly north. There is a large farmyard just up the road.
Photographed near Dummer, Saskatchewan on January 26, 2022.
I love bridges like this! My fave is the (now discontinued) one at Borden, SK.
ReplyDeleteRunning across a bowstring bridge is always a highlight. The bridge at Borden takes it to a whole other level.
DeleteIt is somewhat of a surprise to see such a bridge in the middle of seemingly nowhere. It's a beauty though. (sorry I haven't been commenting - computer issues. Now have a brand spanking new one)
ReplyDeleteThanks MA. Hooray for the new computer!
