Red Rock Coulee

A natural area (maybe better described as "supernatural") midway between Orion and Seven Persons, Alberta.

Stopping here is always treat for the senses.  Enjoy!

  1. I assume those huge round red rocks were left by retreating glaciers a gazillion years ago? Eerie looking indeed.

    1. I've read they were formed in ancient seas by water circling around an organic object such as a bone or leaf. Sounds like much the same way a pearl is created.

  2. I wonder if giants picked them up and moved them there. I can dream, right?

    1. Giants forgot to pick them up after a game of marbles maybe? :-)

  3. Been here a couple of times and wanted to visit this month. It did not work out.

    1. An added bonus for visiting in the winter is that you don't have to watch out for rattlesnakes and scorpions.
