Tunstall

This concrete bank vault is all that remains of the village of Tunstall, Saskatchewan.

The big slab of concrete in front of the vault must have been the front step into the bank.

This looks kind of ominous.

Tunstall has inarguably achieved "ghost town" status.

Photographed on July 30, 2019.

  1. I never would have expected to see a bank vault seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Makes me think of a movie plot where you go through that doorway into a whole other realm.

    1. Surprisingly I've found a few old bank vaults in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Montana. These things were built to last.

  2. I have been here and seen this. I saw what looks like a few foundations near the vault. I tried to find some information about Tunstall. So far I found nothing online about the place.

    1. I've never found any info on Tunstall at all...not for lack of trying though.

  3. Cool! I have seen images but have never been in person. There is a similar looking vault left in the old Brazaeau Colleries site at Nordegg.
